The Orange County lake exception worth actually knowing about

When the current code edition adopted its updated wind-speed mapping standard, the Wind-Borne Debris Region briefly expanded to include areas around several of Orange County’s larger lakes, Lake Apopka, the Butler Chain, and Lake Conway among them, catching some homeowners off guard who assumed being 50-plus miles from the ocean meant WBDR rules simply didn’t apply to them.
